Lucille Edgerton Brown, age 103, of Florence, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 26, 2021. She was the daughter of James Warren Edgerton, Sr. and Avie Oliver Edgerton. She was raised on a farm in Sardis, South Carolina and enjoyed telling stories about her childhood to anyone who would listen. She was a faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church and always encouraged others to follow the Lord. She spent many years as a dietitian at McLeod Hospital. She always enjoyed cooking and feeding others in her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers James Warren Edgerton Jr. and Willie Hugh Edgerton; her sister Annie Roney Edgerton Vaughan; and her daughter Irene Brown Miles. She is survived by her son William Nelson “Bill” (Gwen) Brown, Jr. of Easley, South Carolina. Six loving grandchildren, Lucy (Mark) Ayers, Crystal (Ty) Hudson, and Curtis Lee (Misty) Martin, Jr. all of Florence, and Tiffany (Jerry) Lyles of Greer, South Carolina, Michael (Nicole) Brown of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Natalie (Jason) Gillespie of Easley, South Carolina. She has eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Service will be graveside at Mount Hope Cemetery on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 2 pm directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Honorage Nursing Center for taking such amazing care of their Granny for the past seven years and McLeod Hospice for the great care they provided in her final weeks.
