Louise Newsome Morris, 76, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, July 10, 2014. Louise was born September 3, 1937 in Georgetown County, SC, to George and Virgie Newsome.Louise retired from Mutual of Omaha.She loved gardening and cooking.She previously cateredspecial occasions along with several close friends.She was a previous member of Faith Southern Methodist Church.Louise and her husband loved to travel and frequently toured all over the United States and many countries.Louise will lovingly be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit and her huge smile. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Caswell“JC” Morris; two brothers, Earl Newsome and ClaytonNewsome. Surviving are her sons, John (Becky) Morris and Steve (Cathy) Morris, both of Florence; five grandchildren, Heather Hicks, Mollye (Del) Baker, Robbin (Amber) Thompson, Brandon (Anthony) Ward, and Carl (Constance) Bennett,all of Florence; ten great-grandchildren, Keith Powell, Garrett Poston, Chase Pierce, McKenzie Thompson, Cameron Baker, Morgan Thompson, Carter Ward, Hanna Reese Ward,J. C. Bennett and Braxton Bennett; and great-great granddaughter, Allison Rose Poston; her sister, Lola Mae Harrelson; two brothers-in-law, Carlysle (Roberta) Morrisof Florence and Cecil (Connie) Morris of Hartsville; Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The family would like to thank her previous caregivers, Marcia Thompson and Carrie Ludd, who cared for her at home; her granddaughter, Brandon Ward, who also lovingly cared for her grandmother while still at home; her Elmcroft Assisted Living family who grew to love her and her sweet smile and quiet personality; to the Agape Hospice facility and a special thank you to Tom Witt and Leslie Tallon for their support. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Suite 100, W. Columbia, SC 29169.
