Louise Kirby Langston, 81, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at a local hospital. Mrs. Langston was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Traxler and Mamie Kirby.She had retired as a Quality Control Inspector at Sara Lee.She was a longtime member of Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased in death by her step-mother, Edith McGee and her sister, Annie Mae Kirby Bailey. Surviving are her husband, James L. Langston, Sr.; her son, James“Jimmy” (Tama) L. Langston, Jr. of Florence; her daughters, Debbie(Andrew) Ranck of West Columbia, Linda (Buck) Howell of Johnsonville and Mamie (Jimmy) Keelsof Florence; her brothers, Traxler Kirby, Jr. of Charleston, Walter Bailey Kirby of Seneca, and Ricky Kirby of Goose Creek; her sisters, Lillie Ann Sligh of Seneca and Donna Rae Kirby of Goose Creek; four grandchildren, Brent Langston, Jennifer Brigman, Al Welch and John Welch and two great-grandchildren, Stormy Brigman and Brandon Brigman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Church of God of Prophecy.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
