Loris Lorraine Hiatt

Loris Lorraine Hiatt Darlington, SC Loris Lorraine Hiatt, 91 of Darlington, formerly of Florence, passed away on Sunday, October 03, 2010 at the Bethea Baptist Home after an illness. Mrs. Hiatt was born in Witten, S.D., a daughter of the late Herman Elroy and Ethel Bridgeman Hiatt.She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wilson Teachers College and as a Civil Service employee for over 40 years, had been a Legislative Aide on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.Before retiring, she was active in her own public relations business. She is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are a daughter, Marcia Ryan (Pete) Cooper of Florence; two grandchildren, Michael Patrick Ryan and Robert Timothy (Heidi) Ryan both of Tampa, FL; one great-grandchild, Morgan Nicole Ryan of Tampa, FL.; and her niece, Eleanor (John) Thurber of Silver Springs, MD. She is also survived by her four beloved kittens, Winnie, Miss Kitty, Grayson, and Cinderella. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends from 1-2:00 P.M. in the Mausoleum Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505 or to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Drive, Florence, SC 29506.
