Lola Mae Harrelson

Lola Mae Harrelson Florence, SC Lola Mae Harrelson, 91, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Harrelson was born in Union County, NC a daughter of the late George W. Newsome and Virgie Thomas Newsome. She was a 50 year member of Hillside Free Will Baptist Church, the Merry at Heart and served as Treasurer of the Sunshine Class and served as a caregiver to many children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph D. Harrelson and three children, Ellen Stone, Davis Harrelson and Charles Harrelson. Surviving are 2 sons, Earl “Buddy” (Linda) Harrelson of Florence, Billy (Beth) Harrelson of Aynor; 4 daughters, Faye (Harold) Fox of Hemingway, DeLane Harrelson, Mary Lynn (Jack) Rose and Nancy Nelson all of Florence, Frances (Lee) Brown of Darlington; 16 grandchildren,David Williams, Cindy Abrams, Sacha Timmons, Beth Gordon, Jody Wynn, Shannon Ellisor, Rachel Stone, Lora Inman, Lex Coker, Jennifer Rose, Jayson Rose, Kelli Dale, Seth Harrelson, Monica Nelson, Levi Nelson and Landon Nelson; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at Hillside Free Will Baptist Church. Committal service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Pine Bluff Cemetery, near Hemingway in Georgetown County, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
