Lois Ard Baggett, 90, of Pamplico, passed away peacefully on Saturday Jan 13, 2018 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 17,1927, a daughter of the late Ben F. and Alice Poston Ard. She was married to her beloved husband, B.J., and made their home in Pamplico, where they owned and operated Baggett’s Gulf Service which was established in 1953. In addition to helping run the business, she was a homemaker and enjoyed her volunteer work with McLeod Senior Life. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a woman of great Christian faith.She was a loving mother and grandmother, more affectionately known as “MAMOO” by her granddaughter, Ashley Caroline, who was the apple of her eye. Mrs. Baggett was predeceased, in addition to her parents and husband, BJ, by one sister, Jollie Faye Cox; three brothers, Dorsey Ard, Davis Ard, and Ellie Ard. She is survived by her devoted son, Carroll (Phyllis) Baggett of Pamplico; granddaughter, Dr. Ashley Caroline Baggett of Chapin SC, and her sister, Myrtle Ard Baggett, of Pamplico with whom she shared a special bond. Their late husbands having been brothers created a close knit family. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Millbranch Cemetery where the family will receive visitors following the service directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
