LEUREA L. STEWART FLORENCE, SC LEUREA L. STEWART, 94, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Stewart was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Manley and Annie Singletary Stewart.He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II having volunteered in the US Air Force in 1941 and served until 1945.He was a meat cutter for Colonial Grocery Stores for six years, a manager for McCain’s Tavern for 20 years and owned and operated Larry’s Superette during the 1960’s to the 1980’s, all in Florence. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 71 years, Iva Lee Carmon Stewart; brothers, Dewey Stewart and Dargan Stewart; sisters, Jeanette Porter and Martha Stewart. Surviving are his son; Larry Stewart of Florence; grandchildren, Annelle (Bo) Osborne, Charlotte (David) Price, Michelle Stewart and Marsha Stone, all of Florence; great-grandchildren, Justin, Joe, Wes, Drew, Dargan, Riley, Reagan and Kaden; very special brother-in-law, William G. Porter, Jr. of Florence; nieces, Rita Faye Porter of Florence and Shirley Pierce of Effingham; nephew, T.W. “Terry” (Wanda) Stewart of Effingham; special friend and second cousin, Rachel Yates of Florence; first cousin, Betty Singletary Jones and special friend, Estelle Matthews. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
