Lendol Crespin Hicks, Sr.

LENDOL CRESPIN HICKS, SR. FLORENCE, SC Lendol Crespin Hicks, Sr., died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence after an illness. Mr. Hicks was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Edward O'Donald and Lena Weaver Hicks.He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, a member of the Omar Shrine in Dillon, SC and the Mackey Lodge #77.He retired as a mechanic after more than 25 years with Dixiana in Dillon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Catherine Wileford Hicks, who died in 1991; his second wife, Patricia Benton Hicks, who died in 2005; sisters, Mildred Hatchell and Eddie Lou Hancock. Surviving are his son, Lendol C. (Dale) Hicks, Jr. of Columbia, SC; step-sons, Perry (Dora) Benton of Florence and Terry (Lorinda) Richter of Greenwood, SC; step-daughter, Cherri (Billy) Barrineau of Florence and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church Building Fund, 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham, SC29541. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Evergreen Baptist Church.A private burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dillon, SC directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence.
