Lena Bazen Kale, 86, of Effingham, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Kale was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late David Bazen and Mary McKnight Bazen.She was a member of Effingham Presbyterian Church and was involved in the women’s groups of the church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Nathan Chalmas Kale, Sr.; her brothers, Olin Bazen and Clarence Bazen and her sister, Vera B. Hinds. Surviving are sons, Nathan C. "Nick" (Debra) Kale of Effingham; David R. (Judy) Kale of Groesbeck, TX and Kerry A. (Jeanette) Kale of Florence; daughter, Paula Kale Poston of Florence; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Janet) Kale, III, Jason Kale, John (Melissa) Kale, Syndey (John) O’Donnell, Amanda Kale, Mary Beth Corriher-Powell, Misty (Dwayne) Ard and Joseph Kale;7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Amy (Coleman) Taylor and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Effingham Presbyterian Church (ARP), with interment following in Lebanon Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Misty and Dwayne Ard at 2067 Willow Creek Road.
