Lela Marie Jones

Lela Marie Jones, 96, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Jones was born a daughter of the late William Hinkle and Minnie Wilson Hinkle.She retired at 84 years old as a sales clerk from J. C. Penney. She is survived by her sons, William McKinley Jones, Jr. (Elizabeth) and Redford Jones; daughters, Sadie Rae Jackson (Thomas) and Rebekah Jones Westmoreland; grandchildren, Debra Rath (Steven), Lisa Weesner, Cheryl McCready, William McKinley Jones, III (Patricia), Bobby McCready, Elizabeth Jones Mitchell (Kevin), Aundrea Nichole Browning (Todd), Kelley Abrams Brown (Ryan), Amy Jones Smith (Chris), Chandler Marie Abrams, John Paul Jones, Angel Jones, Holly Perez Bellamy, Heather Perez, Gerald G. Weesner, Jr. and William Jeffrey Weesner; fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Reverend William McKinley Jones; daughter, Elizabeth Weesner; son, John Paul Jones; brothers, John Hinkle and Mac Hinkle; sister, Mae H. Andrews and great-grandson, Jonathan Boyd Browning. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the home of the granddaughter, Beth Mitchell, on Monday, August 6, 2018, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm celebrating the life of Lela Marie Jones.
