Legrand Chavis

Legrand Chavis, 80, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mr. Chavis was born a son of the late Lena Springs Chavis and Gary Chavis.He was the owner and operator of Chavis Used Cars for more than forty years.Mr. Chavis was a member of Greater Vision Tabernacle. He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Burleson (Crystal) and Patricia McLeod (Bruce) both of Florence, SC; son, Michael Burleson (Heidi) of High Point, NC; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Chavis (Marsha) of Hartsville, SC and Lavern Chavis (Rosie) of Pageland, SC; and sister, Kathy Pierce of Florence, SC. Mr. Chavis is predeceased by his wife, Nancy Burleson-Chavis, and his daughter, Shannon Carter. Funeral services will be held at 3:05 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.Classic cars are welcome to attend. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
