Legran Richard Powell

LeGran Powell , 80, of Florence, passed away on November 6, 2014 at his home after an illness.Mr. Powell was born January 27, 1934, to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Powell.He was employed by Cox motors Chrysler/Plymouth for many years and retired from Horne Ford after years of service.He enjoyed doing yard work, fishing and some hunting.He was a member of The Gospel Temple Worship Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gladys Powell; his wife of sixty oneyears, Selma; and a brother, Marshall Powell. He is survived by one son, Terry (Wanda) Powell; sisters, Marilyn Anderson andClaire (Paul) McElveen; and sisters-in-law, Clydia (Dudley) Hatfield, Polly Tilton, Brenda McGee, Myrtle McGee and Cheryl Powell. The family wishes to thank special friends, Sadie Buffkin, Carol Shatoe, Linda and Tommy Jeffords and Tamara Jacovis. Also, they extend a special thank you to the staff of Carolinas Hospice Center for their support and compassion, Sharon, Avis, Robbin, Barry and Stan. Box 4808, Florence, SC29502 Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel .Entombment will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
