Lee Roy Defee

Lee Roy Defee, 79, of Florence, SC, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was the son of the late Melvin Defee and Blanche Bailey Defee. He has been married to his loving wife for 58 years. Mr. Defee was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a carpenter by trade for 45 years. He also attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Coleman and brothers, J. S. Defee and Marion Defee. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Carmon Defee; son, Bert (Charlene) Defee; daughter, Sharon (Benjy) Hudson; brother, Allen Defee; grandchildren, Tracy Dixon, Angie Cromer, Robbie Cromer, Brooke Defee, Amber Defee, Lori Defee, and Maggie Rose Evans;and 16 great-grandchildren. He was a loving and giving person who never asked for anything in return. He was always more concerned for others than he was for himself. He was the rock of our family and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 PM .
