LAWSON LAGREE LOWDER, JR. Florence, S.C. LAWSON LAGREE LOWDER, JR., 72, of Florence, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, after a brief illness. He was born in Sumter, SC, the son of the late Dock Lowder and Gladys Pearl Lowder. He was a retired truck driver for Ezelle Trucking Company and a member of Florence Baptist Temple.Mr. Lowder was a veteran of the US Army and recipient of the Purple Heart. His name is on the Florence Veterans Park Wall of Honor.He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Judy Wilkens Lowder; his children, John E.(Teressa) Lowder of Conway, and Mary A. Lowder of Florence; his sisters, Lottie (Rex) Coots of Sumter, Sarah Smith of Hartsville, Virginia (Ralph) Graham of Alcolu, and Donna (Bob) Jones of Owosso, MI. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in the Chapel of Florence Baptist Temple.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC29501 or to Florence Baptist Temple Building Fund, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC29505. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers of the McLeod Main Tower, Third Floor and the McLeod Hospice House for all their special care given to Mr. Lowder.
