Lawrence Joseph Ventimiglio, 78, of Florence, SC died on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born March 20, 1948, in McKees Rocks, PA to Carmen and Rose Ventimiglio. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After many years working in the corporate field, he was very blessed to be able to enjoy retirement.
Larry will be remembered for his comforting, warm voice, his witty sense of humor, and his strong, endless faith. He attended St. Ann Catholic Church where he served on Parish Council, Legion of Mary, and Knights of Columbus. He counted weekly collections, routinely planted and cared for flowers on the church campus, and often contributed to the Sweet Sunday breakfasts. Even though he was not a member of the Ladies’ Guild, he enjoyed managing the snack bar at the annual Come to the Manger event. Most recently, he began attending monthly Cribbage games, even though he was still learning how to play.
Larry’s 78 years on this Earth were focused on love. He grew up loving the Pittsburgh Steelers, boating, golfing (in his younger years) and Italian cooking. He loved his wife of 56 years, his children, his grandchildren, and his grand pups very much. They lovingly refer to him as “Fa-Fa” because one of the kids had difficulty pronouncing “Pa-Pa” and the name fit! Most importantly, Larry loved God, and he actively shared God’s love with others.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his sister Linda (James) Aloye of Reading, PA; his brother Joe (Fran) Ventimiglio of Summerville, SC; his daughter Lisa (Anthony) Baker of Rock Hill, SC; his son Michael (Kristina) Ventimiglio of Florence, SC; and his grandchildren, Seth Ventimiglio, Lainey Ventimiglio, Kinslee Ventimiglio, Lauren Lovett, Morgan Kemmerlin, and Elizabeth Baker.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm, beginning with a rosary at 5:00, on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church on Saturday, October 3, 2026 beginning at 10:00 am.
Memorials may be made to: Legion of Mary @ St. Ann Catholic Church 113 S. Kemp Street Florence, SC 29506.
