Lawrence Brooks Roscoe

Lawrence Brooks Roscoe, Sr., 90, of Bennettsville, passed away on October 17, 2013, at a Florence healthcare facility. Mr. Roscoe was born in Bennettsville, SC, a son of the late Pearlie Roscoe and Eula English Roscoe.He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during World War II and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.Mr. Roscoe was self-employed as a mechanic and a truck driver. Surviving are his son, Lawrence (Joy) B. Roscoe, Jr. of Florence; his step-son, Walter “BeBe” Englehardt of Bennettsville, SC; four grandchildren, Laura Roscoe, Lawrence Roscoe, Jonathan “K.C.” Englehardt, and Alaina Englehardt; four great-grandchildren; and affectionately known as “Pop” by his extended family (Billy, Sissy and Wendy). Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 21, 2013, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
