Lawrence "Buddy" Durham Harris

Lawrence Durham “Buddy” Harris, 69, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, July 05, 2014 at Carolinas Hospital System after an illness. Mr. Harris was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late John Wesley Harris and Anne Poston Harris.He had worked for JP Stevens which later became Delta Mills and retired from H.R.S. Textile.He loved stock car racing and had raced in Timmonsville and was a huge NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Harris. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Linda Hayes Harris of Florence; children, Wesley Smith (Michele) Harris and Carol Harris (Rod) Saavedra, both of Florence; grandchildren, Julianna Michele Harris, Elayna Rose Harris, Derrick Robert Saavedra and Caiden Lawrence Saavedra; brother, Robert (Jean) Harris of Salem, SC and a niece, Angie Harris of Garden City. Memorials may be made to the Salem Cemetery Fund, c/o Jimmy Evans, 3715 W. Old Salem Road, Pamplico, SC29583. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2014 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.The committal service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Salem Cemetery, Pamplico, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 PM Monday night at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the residence of Carol and Rod Saavedra.
