Laura Ann Mims

Laura Ann Mims, 57, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Laura was born a daughter of the late Gene David Mims and Judith McLaughlin Mims. She graduated from South Florence High School in 1978 and from Limestone College with a B.S. Degree. Laura worked for Florence School District #1 at McLaurin Elementary School for the last 19 years.During her time there, she worked in the cafeteria and served as manager for the last three years.She loved children, animals and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her nephews, Jene Daniel Mims and Joshua J. Saldivar Mims (Christa), both of Florence; aunt, Molly McLaughlin Pittman (Wendell) of Hamer; and uncle, Jesse Harrelson (Marie) of Florence. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Mims and two sisters, Flora Mims and Irene Saldivar. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society, P. O.
