Larry Carl Sharpe

LARRY C. SHARPE, 59, of Florence, went home to be with his Lord, December 21, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends after a 3 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Larry was born in Springfield, Ohio on June 26, 1955.He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, a Deacon and a member of Randy Scurry’s Sunday School Class.Larry loved his Lord, family and friends, always taking care of his family with joy.Larry was a graduate of NC State University and worked with Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals for 33 years.He was admired by his colleagues and their generosity was greatly appreciated during this difficult time.Larry was an avid quail hunter and loved training his English Setters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Miller Sharpe. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Lisa Griffin Sharpe; daughters, Lauren Sharpe and Hope (Stephen) Mahaffey; son, Kent (Wendy) Segars; father, Col. Carl Sharpe; grandson, Ethan Mahaffey; Godson, Raymond Shea; brothers, Terry (Joyce) Sharpe, Ronnie (Shirley) Sharpe, Scott (Rita) Sharpe; several nieces and nephews; Todd Mozingo that was like a son to Larry and longtime friend, Chuck Jones, that was with them every day. Memorials may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 2401 Claussen Road, Florence, SC29505. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to their church family for all the prayers and support. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 26, 2014 at Greenwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Friday at the church prior to the service.
