Larry Barnes Pelham II

Larry Barnes Pelham II, 42, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025.

He is the son of Larry B. Pelham (Melinda) and Kathy Weatherford Pergerson (Johnnie).

Larry graduated from Rockingham County Senior High School in Wentworth, North Carolina. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he served as an infantry soldier in the 502nd Infantry Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division. A highly decorated veteran, Sergeant First Class Larry received numerous honors, including the Iraq Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Korean Defense Service Medal. Beyond his military achievements, Larry was known for his vibrant spirit, he was truly the life of the party.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Christina Saunders and Rachel P. Hulon (Ethan); niece, Brianna Saunders; and his furry companion, Dapper.

The family will receive friends and family Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Florence National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
