Larry Olen Broach

Larry Olen Broach, 71, of Effingham, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 after his lengthy battle with cancer. Mr. Broach was born in Effingham, SC, a son of the late Earnest B. Broach and Ella Mae Broach.He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of Northwood Worship Center, and was owner and operator of National Business Machines and one of the founders of Broach’s Swing Shop.He was an avid fisherman, loved to go shrimping with family, and was a master at woodworking.He was also thrilled to be his daughter’s number one handyman.Ultimately he was the world’s greatest husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rudolph Broach and a sister, Janette Hawkins. Surviving are his wife, Shirley J. Broach of Effingham; daughter, Renee’ Broach; brothers, Herman Broach, Ralph (Annie Mae) Broach, Ranerson (Mary) Broach and Earnest (Betty) Broach and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Peace Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
