Larry Russell Abbott, 68, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Mr. Abbott was born on February 1, 1952, a son of the late Carrie Opal Gause Abbott and James Raymond Abbott, Sr.He was a devoted Christian and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He was a mill technician with Domtar Paper. Mr. Abbott was a devoted Carolina Gamecocks fan and fiercely loved his family and his fur baby, Brody. Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Jordan Abbott; daughter, Hope Bailey (Chris) of Florence; son, Thomas Edward McCants, Jr. (Lisa) of Manning; grandchildren, Jessica Bailey (Cody), Gavin Bailey (Stephanie), Lance Bailey (Kristin), Melissa McCants, Chase McCants, Taylor McCants, Jordan McCants; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Alexander, Kinsley Alexander, Cameron Crowley, Max Heaton, Sawyer McCants, Sylas Haase, and Oakley McCants; brothers, Bob Abbott (Carol Jean) of Hartsville and Dennis Abbott (Cheri) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Kay Stewart (Lee) of Hartsville; and nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at First Free Will Baptist Church.Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Due to the current COVID-19 concerns, social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 2624 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC29501.
