L. Wesley Stokes

Linus Wesley Stokes, 75, of Florence, SC passed away on Sunday, February 08, 2015 at his residence after an illness. Graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mr. Stokes was born in Estill, SC a son of the late James Stokes and Lillie Smith Stokes. He had been employed with Bill Bradham’s B.P. Station on Second Loop Rd., and later with Newsome Automotive. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Julia Ann Dew Stokes. Surviving are his daughter, Lisa Stokes of Lamar; brother, James Stokes of Merry Hill, NC; sister, Barbara Griffin of Florence; sister-in-Law, Barbara D. (Charles) Smith of Latta; brothers-in-Law, James Earl (Judy) Dew and Mitchell (Jane) Dew both of Latta and a number of nieces and nephews.
