Kenneth Wayne Wise

Kenneth Wayne Wise, 77, of Florence, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House.

Mr. Wise was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Aquilla Geewood “AG” Wise and Dorothy Jean Erwin Wise Wright. He graduated from McClenaghan High School in 1967 and received his BA Degree from St. Andrews College in 1971. Mr. Wise loved baseball and played in Little League, Pony League and American Legion under Coach DeBerry and then continued in high school and college when he played under Coach Gerald Griffin. He played basketball at Moore Junior High School and at McClenaghan, in his senior year, was named MVP.

He was a store manager at S. H. Kress; worked with Milliken in Hartville and owned a hardware store called Planters Store in Marion where he was active in the Lions Club. Mr. Wise then went to work with Lowes in the floor covering department from which he retired.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Wise.

Surviving are his wife, Lora Satterfield Wise; daughter, Leslie Wise; sisters, Janet Barry and Brenda Tindall; aunt, Barbara Odom; uncles Harold Erwin (Linda) and Ray Erwin (Annette); several nieces and nephews; lots of cousins and his fury friends, Layla and Lucy.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Florence Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with visitation after the service. Entombment will follow.
