Kenneth Harvey Dripps

Kenneth Harvey Dripps, Sr., 89, of Quinby, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Mr. Dripps was born in Wall, PA, a son of the late Joseph Harvey Dripps and Lillian Harvey Dripps. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II.Mr. Dripps was a member of Oakdale Country Club and was an avid golfer and bowler.He was a master carpenter.Mr. Dripps was a Mechanical Engineer with Union Carbide for thirty-three years and Drafting Professor at Florence-Darlington Technical College for ten years. Surviving are his sons, Kenneth Harvey (Brenda) Dripps, Jr. of Monroe, NC and David Dripps of Quinby; daughters, Laura (Bubba) Blackmon of Florence and Judith Dripps and Mary Arrants, both of Metro Atlanta, GA; 28 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Olin Kevin Creel of Lake City. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dripps was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Ann Driver Dripps; his daughter, Deborah Lee Creel and a son-in-law, Roy Allen Arrants. Memorials may be made to the City of Florence Veterans Park, 324 W. Evans Street, Florence, SC. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
