KAY S. HOLLAND FLORENCE, SC Kay Saunders Holland, 77, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Mrs. Holland was born in Portsmouth, VA on August 7, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Henry H. and Eva M. Saunders.She was a devoted member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully in many capacities.She was the President of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Holland used her talents to start the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Highland Park that has touched many lives.Her passions included spending time with her family, playing bridge with her friends as the Senior center, volunteering at the Florence Little Theater Box Office, and reaching out to others in need. Mrs. Holland was a 1955 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She was retired from Florence School District 1 where she worked as secretary at Royall Elementary and South Florence High and a bookkeeper at Wilson High. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Bobby R. Holland; her children: Michael Holland (Rhonda Knight) and Kim (Norwood) Bonnoitt, both of Florence; grandchildren: Courtney (Joe) Coker of Goose Creek, Taylor Holland of New York, and Callie Bonnoitt of Florence. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
