Katie Thompson Nikolakakos

Katie Thompson Nikolakakos, 75, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Mrs. Nikolakakos was born a daughter of the late Lou Addie Williams Thompson and George Washington Thompson.She was the co-owner and operator of Francis Marion Restaurant in Marion for 35 years.She most recently attended Paran Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lake City, SC, but was a member of Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Demetre “Jim” Nikolakakos; brother, Oley M. Thompson; and sisters, Violet Blackwell and Lee Buhrman. She is survived by her children, Patty Seastrunk (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, SC, George Nikolakakos (Glenda) of Florence, SC and Pete Nikolakakos (Christina) of Navarre, FL; 9 grandchildren, Jessica Sullivan, Jamie Seastrunk, Cole Seastrunk,Joanna Nikolakakos, Maria Nikolakakos, Eleni Nikolakakos, Andrea Nikolakakos, Christina Nikolakakos and Dimitri Nikolakakos; brothers, G. W. Thompson of Summerville, SC,Clifton O. Thompson of Cayce, SC and D. Frank Thompson of McHenry, Illinois; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to the current COVID-19 concerns, social distancing will be observed.
