Kathleen M. Cox Poston

Kathleen Poston of Pamplico went home to the Lord on May 8, 2014 after a short visit in the hospital. Mrs. Poston was born in Florence County on February 28, 1942.Her parents were the late Dewey W. Matthews and Letha Matthews Douglas.She taught at Allendale Elementary School, Allendale, SC.Mrs. Poston attended Pamplico United Methodist Church and loved to fish.She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry F. Cox, a daughter, Lorraine Cox and a brother, Leo Matthews. Surviving are her husband, Donald F. Poston; son, L. Fulton Cox , Jr. (Mary) of Pamplico, SC; step-daughter, Pam Harris (Tim) of Effingham; step-sons, Britt Poston (Elizabeth), Jimmy Poston (Nancy), both of Florence, SC; grandson, Ryan Cox of Pamplico, SC; several step-grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Wit, Luke, Colby Cooper; brother, Donald Matthews of Bethea Baptist Retirement Community, Darlington, SC; sisters, Genell Hyman of Scranton, SC, Juanita Player (JD) of Lynchburg, SC, Joyce Pounder (Gary) of Yorktown, VA and Vickie Buchanan (Denny) of Charleston, SC. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Pamplico United Methodist Church, Pamplico, South Carolina, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pamplico United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 277, Pamplico, SC29583.
