Kathleen Anderson Eslinger

March 5, 1925 — November 3, 2017

Kathleen Anderson Eslinger, 92, of Florence, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017. Mrs. Eslinger was born in Coward, SC a daughter of the late Walter Anderson and Isla Pierce Anderson and the widow of Louis Stephen Eslinger, whom she met at the Naval Yard in Charleston during WWII.She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mecca Chapter 278 for 39 years.She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the VFW Auxiliary.She was also a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she was a member of the Women of St. Anthony.Kitty had a gracious heart and was a dedicated volunteer that served many programs such as the luncheon program at Central United Methodist Church for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Louis Stephen Eslinger; brothers, Wysong, Quanie and Joseph Anderson; sisters, Coleen Owens, Marian Miles, Betty Miles and Dixie Coker. Surviving are her sons, Tommy Eslinger and David (Sylvia) Eslinger, both of Florence; daughter, Kathy (Ronnie) Jones of Florence; grandchildren, Pamela Zubrzycki, Jennifer Atkinson, Kimberly and Stacy Jones, Renee Cooper, Brad Eslinger and Julie Ann Lyons; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Galloway of Florence and a sister-in-law, Helen Baumhofer of Florence. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Monday, November 6, 2017 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
