Katherine Annie Gaylord

Katherine Annie Gaylord, 80, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. Mrs. Gaylord was the daughter of the late Esther Campbell Tatoolas and Peter Tatoolas.She was born in Wisconsin, but lived most of her life in Illinois before moving to Florence after the passing of her husband of 49 years, Charles Allen Gaylord.Her lifelong passion was dolls.She was a collector, a store owner, doll doctor, taught Adult Education courses, and started the McHenry County Doll Club.She was also a member of the Pee Dee Doll Club.She was a talented seamstress, loved her dogs, and was an avid reader. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Scott) Connelly of Florence; son, Roger Gaylord of Jefferson, WI; grandchildren, Jamie (Robert B. Jr.) Moore of Florence, Matthew (Mary Rachel McMillan) Connelly of Orlando, FL, and Adam (Amanda) Heitritter of LeMars, IA; great-granddaughters, Alexandra Moore of Florence, Stacie and Autumn Heitritter of LeMars, IA; sister, Caroline Homan of East Dundee, IL, and brother, William Brunkow of Arizona. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Brunkow. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Stoudendemire-Dowling Funeral Home.Family will receive friends immediately following the service.
