Juanita Haynes Watford, 90, of Florence, SC passed away on September 29, 2016. Juanita was born in Florence County to Blandy Chalmous Haynes and Olive Mae Turner. She attended school in Florence, graduating Florence High School in 1944. She was working for Liberty Life Insurance Co. in Florence when she met the love of her life, John R. Watford, Sr. They marriedin 1950, andshared 57 years together until his death in 2008. Juanita was a faithful member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Florence SC. There she taught Children’s Sunday School, served on the Worship Committee, was a member of the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women’s Circle, and the Singing Seniors. Born with a servant’s heart, Juanita donated her time delivering Meals on Wheels, serving meals at the Manna House as well as nurturing her family and friends-- she was always there for whomever needed her. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John R. Watford, Sr., grandson, Daniel Russell Watford, brother Allard C Haynes, sisters, Mary Ruby Ham and Bernice Braddock. Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Blandy “B.C.” Haynes (Faye) of Virginia, her son, John R. Watford, Jr. (Terry) of Darlington, her daughter Julie W. Prosser (Calven) of Greenville, SC, grandson John Warren Wooten (Garrett) of Florence, step grandchildren Diane Perkins (Robin) and Crystal Page of Darlington, Jennifer (Brian) Spring of Florence and Rusty Prosser of Darlington, 10 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center of St. Paul. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1629 West Palmetto Street, Florence, SC 29501, or the charity of one’s choice.
