Joyce Clemons Odom

Darlington, SC Joyce Clemons Odom, 82, of Darlington, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Bethea Baptist Home. Mrs. Odom was born on June 17, 1933, in Marion, SC, a daughter of the late Dewitt and Beulah Clemons.She was a graduate of Rains High School, where she achieved all-state in basketball her senior year. She was employed with Vaughn Insurance Agency for 41 years, and was a member of the Church at King Ave in Florence. She is survived by her sons,Russell Langley and Richard Langley,both of Darlington; step-sons Ronald Odom of Florence and John (Christine) Odom, Jr. of Chadds Ford, PA; grandchildren, Charles Walker Langley, Scott Smith, Catherine Odom, Jack Odom, Ashley Hardee, and Carrie Odom; a special caregiver, Sandra Bacote; and a special friend, Leroy Sweat. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Langley, her second husband, John Odom, and a brother, Robert E. Clemons. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Stoudenmire –Dowling Funeral Home.
