JOYCE NEWMAN TURNER Pamplico, S.C. JOYCE NEWMAN TURNER, 76, of Pamplico, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Turner was born in Chesterfield Co., SC, a daughter of the late Paul Benjamin and Ruby Lee Watkins Newman.The love she had for the Lord and her family was unconditional.She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was very active in her WMU, GA's, choir, was a Sunday School teacher and involved with discipleship training.She retired from Hannah-Pamplico High School as a Guidance Counselor Secretary and a teacher's aide.Her favorite hobbies included painting, sewing and she was an avid gardener.Among all of these, her most favorite thing to do was spending time with her family especially at the beach. She is survived by her son, Paul Kenneth Turner of Pamplico; daughters; Kathi (Anthony) Poston and Susan (Ben) Hunt, both of Little River; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara N. (Pat) DuBose of Spartanburg, SC and Patsy N. (Don) Coker of Greenwood, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Willard Turner, who died February 17, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 217 Dozier Boulevard, Suite 200, Florence, SC29501 or to Mt.
