Johnny Carol Sweat

Johnny Carol Sweat, 57, of Effingham, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014, after a long illness. Mr. Sweat was born in Dillon, SC, a son of Forest L. Sweat, Sr.and the late Pansy Christmas Sweat.He retired from Shoney’s after twenty years of service as head cook. Surviving are his wife, Leta Brown Sweat of Effingham; his son, Johnny Russell“Rusty” Sweat of Effingham; his father, Forest L. Sweat, Sr.of Florence; four sisters, Sandra (Jimmy) Christmas Gause of Florence, Kathy (Jody) Sweat Deese of Milledgeville, GA, Jeanette (John) Sweat Williams of Myrtle Beach, SC and Melissa (Jason) Jeffords of Effingham; a brother, Forest “Nero” L. Sweat, Jr. of Greenville, SC; special sisters-in-law , Marie, Nancy, Sandy and especially Nancy “Lu” Turner of Effingham; and special canine friend, “Buddy”. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Turner Cemetery.
