John James Young

John James Young, III, 65, of Florence, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017. Mr. Young was born a son of Joyce Joan Bain Modlin and the late John James Young, Jr.He was a veteran of the US Marines and was a reporter and photographer for the Stars and Stripes.Mr. Young was an avid writer and loved reporting. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Richard Edward Modlin and David Lee Modlin both of McColl, and Michael Young of Kingstree. He was predeceased by his father and his sister, Deborah Ann Modlin. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
