John Ottis Williamson, 82, of Florence passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Mr. Williamson was born a son of the late Johnny Daniel Williamson and Maude Cox Williamson.He retired in 2000 as a #2 machine lead operator at Stone Container and had previously worked with International Paper.Mr. Williamson was a member of Abundant Life Church.He played softball for many years and was the co-founder of Quinby Ball Field and a member of the Winyah Gator Championship Team. He was a veteran of the National Guard.He loved working in his yard and watching his grandchildren play baseball and football. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jack Williamson, Norman Williamson and Lucky Williamson and his sister, Doris Assey. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of sixty years, Carol Lee Williamson; sons, Kyle Williamson and Chad Williamson (Wendy), both of Florence; daughter, Tracey Williamson Dennis of Florence; grandchildren, Brady Dennis, Chandler Dennis, Logan Williamson and Cody Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Lyla Dennis, Emma Dennis and Cobyn Dennis. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Florence Memorial Garden Mausoleum Chapel directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
