John Walker Turner

John Walker Turner, Sr., 73, of Pamplico, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Mr. Turner was born in Pamplico, SC, a son of the late Otis Walter Turner and Ruby Poston Turner.He was a veteran of the US Navy.He was a member of Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church.After retiring from B & C Fuel, he and Ray Benny Baggett worked together as ”Jacks of all Trades”.He loved his family, tinkering in his shop, working with his hands and fishing. Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Judy Dew Turner; his children, John Walker (Kay) Turner, Jr. of Rock Hill and Thomas Mark (Lisa) Turner of Pamplico; grandchildren, Courtney Suzanne Turner of Pamplico, Jeremy Walker Turner and Thomas Anthony Turner, both of Rock Hill; siblings, Joe (Cathy) Turner of Florence, David (Vonnie) Turner of Pamplico, Larry Hilton (Carol) Turner of Florence, Sue (Bobby) Calcutt of Pamplico, Ellen Faye (Mac) Rogers of Florence and Gerald Wayne (Landis) Turner of Pamplico; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tom and Blanche Dew; sisters-in-law, Janet D. (Ken) Trivette and Judy W. Dew and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David L. Dew. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
