John Steven Morris Florence, SC John Steven Morris, 54, passed away Wednesday, November 06, 2013 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the residence of Deana and Michael McKay, 4433 Sardis Highway, Timmonsville. Steve was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Richard Jesse Morris and Bess Irene Soule Morris. He was employed with Blanchard Machinery. He received his Doctorate in Theology from Beacon University, Columbus, Ga. He was a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans where he was the commander of The Pee Dee Rifles, Florence Chapter and the Military Order of Stars and Bars. He was a formerly attended Southside Baptist Church and was currently attending the Gospel Temple. He loves history and Genealogy and was a big Clemson fan. Surviving are his daughter, Melissa Danielle “Deana” McKay and her husband Michael of Timmonsville; half-sisters, Sandra Williams of Clarksville, TN and Linda Parker of Society Hill; his grandchildren that meant the world to him, Jessica McKay, Dylan McKay and Caitlin McKay and a special friend, Rhonda McLaughlin of Florence Memorials may be made to the War Between the States Museum, 107 S.
