John James Marr

John James Marr, 80, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Marion, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Mr. Marr was born in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Andrew Leo Marr and Ruth Wilson Marr.When he was younger, he was a professional baseball player.He received a Christian Education Diploma from Prairie Bible Institute in Canada and was a Missionary through IBBM (Independent Bible Baptist Mission).Mr. Marr has been a devoted Missionary since 1964 serving in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, South America and Russia.He was a faithful servant of the Lord. Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, Barbara Anne Marr; his daughter, Beth Barber of Radford, VA; sister, Helen Ritter of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Lenisha Roop and Linden Barber and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a Mission Charity of one’s choice.
