John Douglas “JD” Collins, 73, of Coward, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Mr. Collins was born in Coward, SC, a son of the late Douglas Collins and Ollie McAllister Collins. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and was a self-employed carpenter.Mr. Collins was a lifelong Clemson fan and an antique car enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lavette Collins, Robert Collins, and Wayne Collins and his sisters, Hazel Lee Collins and Gertrude McGee. Surviving are Linda Logan Green; his son, Brantley (Teresa) Green of Conway, SC; daughters, Alisa (Terrell) Fowler of Lake City, SC and Melanie (John) Collins of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Jackson Fowler, Landin Fowler, Daniel Collins, Mary Ellen Collins, Nathaniel Green and Madeline Green; brothers, Randolph Collins, Charles (Peggy) Collins, and Dexter (Sarah) Collins; sister, Donnie Mae Lee; and special nephew, Glenn Turner. Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Grace Baptist Church, 2400 Third Loop Road, Florence, SC. Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
