John "Jack" F Gardner

John “Jack” F. Gardner, 91, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Mr. Gardner was born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Raymond Gardner and Edna D. Gardner.He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII.He was an engineer and a draftsman at Bickley Furnaces in Bensalem, PA where he worked for twenty-eight years.Mr. Gardner was a member of the VFW in Florence and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Doris Lederer Gardner; sons, Robert Gardner of Tucson, AZ, David Gardner and Jim Gardner, both of Lynchburg, VA; daughter, Susan Freeman of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Courtney Gardner and John Robert Gardner, both of Lynchburg, VA, Devon Gardner of Tucson, AZ and Anthony Crossley of Bensalem, PA; and his brother, Ray Gardner of Mt. Holly, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
