John Stokes Head

John Stokes Head, III, 72, of Florence, SC passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Mr. Head was born in Florence, SC a son of the late John S. Head, Jr. and Mildred Allen Head.He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and retired from Interstate Truck Parts.He loved racing and crewed in the Nascar Slim Jim All Pro Series.John played a mean bass guitar and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray (Diane) Head. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Martin Head of Florence; son, John Stokes (Michelle) Head, IV; daughters, Tabatha “Tammy” (Frank) DuRant and Denise Head (Scott); grandchildren, Rabin (Damon) Moody, Patrick (Jennifer) Port, “Jr.”, Regan Mott (Jermichael), Laura Katherine Head, and Reid DuRant; great-grandchildren, Bryant Gainey, Braylee Wright, Lucas Moody, Camden Moody and Jace Port; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Monday, June 17, 2019 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
