John Franklin "Johnny" Billingsley

John Franklin “Johnny” Billingsley, 75, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Mr. Billingsley was born in Monroe, NC a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Billingsley and Marcelee Collins Billingsley.He graduated from McClenaghan High School and served 3 years in the US Navy.Johnny was a member of Faith Chapel for 44 years and worked for CSX Railroad for 39.5 years, retiring as yard master.He also coached Dixie Youth Baseball at Maple Park and Pop Warner Football. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Clarice Billingsley. Surviving are his wife, Anne Cormell Billingsley of Florence; sons, Shannon Cormell (Stewart) Billingsley of Florence, John Mark (Jeannine) Billingsley of Lexington and Anthony Wilds Billingsley of Charleston; grandchildren, John Ethan Billingsley, Seth Cox Billingsley, Isabel Shannon Billingsley and William John Billingsley; great-grandchild,, Abigail Cox Billingsley; brothers, Eric Billingsley of Charlotte, NC and Dr. Gary (Janet) Billingsley of Augusta, GA and sister, Mary (Sammy) Sanders of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
