John Albert Marsch, Sr.

JOHN "JACK" ALBERT MARSCH, SR. Simpsonville, S.C. JOHN "JACK" ALBERT MARSCH, SR., 90, of Simpsonville, passed away on March 24, 2013. Mr. Marsch was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII.He retired in 1983 from Union Carbide in Florence, SC, as Maintenance Superintendent. He was the last surviving member of his generation, having been predeceased by all his brothers and sisters.He was also predeceased by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Anna Foreacre Marsch, a grandson, John Albert Marsch, III and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Marsch of Laurel, Maryland. Surviving are his three sons: John Albert Marsch, Jr., of Columbia, MD, Michael (Drenda) Dean Marsch, of Simpsonville, SC, and Dr. Glenn (Cindy) Alan Marsch of Slippery Rock, PA; six grandchildren: Janet Marsch of Austin, TX, Laura Marsch of Simpsonville, SC, Abigail (Garrett) Marsch Kimball of Pittsburgh, PA, David Marsch of Cleveland, OH, Elisabeth and Benjamin Marsch of Slippery Rock, PA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC 29210.
