JOHN A. FISHER FLORENCE, S.C. JOHN A. FISHER, 78, of Florence, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Fisher was born in Fairmont, NC, a son of the late Ralph and Oline Cole Fisher.He retired in 2007 as a self-employed architect.He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a former board member of the Manna House. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Helen Ammons Fisher of Florence; four children, Steve (Cindy) Fisher, Norman Fisher, and Miranda Fisher all of Florence and Michael (Annette) Fisher of California; five grandchildren, Jennifer Pattillo, Amanda Fisher, Joshua Fisher, Kaylee Fisher, and Jonathan Fisher; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Pattillo, and Braeson Carroway; two sisters, Vernon Bullock of NC and Janet Brogdon of Mullins; two brothers,Donald (Sue) Fisher of Mullins and William Harry (Polly) Fisher of Nichols; his mother-in-law, Rodell Ammons of Florence; and his canine companion, Gizmo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Cornerstone Baptist Church.Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2930 Masters Way, Darlington, SC 29532. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
