Joanne Gainey

JOANNE TURNER GAINEY EFFINGHAM, SC JOANNE TURNER GAINEY, 60, of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Ms. Gainey was born in Florence County, a daughter of H.W. and Eloise Morris Turner. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Daughter, Nana, Sister, Aunt and friend to many. She had a passion for children and had been active in Children’s church and Sunday School ministries for many years. Surviving, in addition to her parents of Effingham are her daughter, Angela (Michael) Bell of Florence, her siblings, Judy Craig, Margaret (Arvle) Wilkes, both of Florence, Edith (Jerry) Watts of Effingham, Bo (Michelle) Turner and Connie (Mark) Braddock, both of Florence and Jeannie (Robbie) Strickland and Kip Turner, both of Effingham; 2 grandchildren, Morgan (Richard) Strickland of Florence and Amber Bell of FL; 1 great-grandchild, Layla Strickland and a number of nieces and nephews, as well as her K-9 Companion Sadie. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the chapel of Soudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Turner Cemetery.
