Joan Covington Williams

Joan Covington Williams, 81, of Pamplico, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Mrs. Williams was born in Laurens County, SC a daughter of the late Robert Covington and Ida Darnell Covington.She graduated from Laurens High School where she starred in basketball and retired from the Town of Pamplico.She was a long time member of Pamplico United Methodist Church, had been attending Beulah Baptist Church, and was Past Grand Matron of the Pamplico Eastern Star #170. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Williams. Surviving are her husband, Merle Williams of Pamplico; son, Paul (Faye) Williams; daughter, Kendra Williams; grandchildren, Christian (Chloe) Williams and Matthew Franz Williams; sister, Andrea (Clark) Whitney. Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Merle Williams, PO Box 544, Pamplico, SC29583. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, Florence, SC. A family visitation will be at 2:00 PM Monday, December 3, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home in Laurens with a graveside service to be held at 3:00 PM Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
