Jo Ann Worrell Blackmon

Jo Ann Worrell Blackmon Florence, South Carolina Jo Ann Worrell Blackmon, 77, of Florence went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 16, 2010 after a brief illness. Mrs. Blackmon was born in Mullins, a daughter of the late William Sam and Lonnie Belle Gladden Worrell.She was a graduate of Florence High School and was an active member of Carolinas Hospital Volunteers, Carolinas Ostomy Support Group, Immanuel Baptist Church, and the Betty Denham Sunday School Class.She was formerly employed at Southeast Vending Company. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Albert “Boo” Blackmon in 1993; two brothers, Sammy Worrell and Jimmy Worrell. Surviving are her daughter, Lynn (George) Hatchell of Florence; a son, Bubba (Laura) Blackmon of Florence; six grandchildren, Jesse Hatchell, Joseph (Angela) Hatchell, Josh (Summer) Hatchell, Kristy (Jody) Wynn, Russell (Candy) Blackmon, and Whitney (P.J.) Soles all of Florence; seven great-grandchildren, Ava and Ansley Hatchell, Joseph and Jacob Wynn, Austin Parnell, Trent Blackmon, and Trey Soles all of Florence; a number of dear nieces and nephews; and her constant canine companion, “Jeannie”. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 W. Cherokee Road, Florence SC 29501.
