JIMMY BYRD NICHOLS, SR. PAMPLICO, SC JIMMY BYRD NICHOLS, SR., 75, of Pamplico, passed away Wednesday night, July 10, 2013. Mr. Nichols was born in Dobson, North Carolina a son of the late John Henry and Lula Jennings Nichols.He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Pamplico and retired from Delta Mills after 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence Cain Nichols and two daughters, Helen Elizabeth Nichols and Sherry Nichols Hughes. Surviving are his children, Ginny Sanderson of Wilmington, NC and Jimmy “Jimbo” B. Nichols, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and their mother, Shirley Louise Nichols of Florence; grandchildren, Tracy Sanderson Sholders of Wilmington, NC, Benjamin Sanderson of Rocky Point, NC, James N. Nichols of Columbia and Jimmy B. Nichols, III and Kelly N. Jenkins, both of Florence; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Buck Nichols and Clyde Nichols, both of Winston-Salem, Ailene Threlkeld of Indian Trail, NC, Ruth N. Love of Chesterfield, Barbara Ann Lagure of Lexington and Wayne Nichols of Aberdeen, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK73123-1718, www.cancer.org. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 14, 2013 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pamplico.
