Jimmy McSwain

Jimmy McSwain, 74, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends at MUSC Charleston on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

He was born at Camp Lejuene, NC. Jimmy was a longtime member at Pisgah Methodist Church, where he held many positions. He was a devout Christian who loved and lived for his church and church family. Mr. McSwain’s strong faith showed through his generosity to others. Jimmy retired from Rental Uniform Service after working there for 37 years. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and fisherman. He was also a Gamecock fan.

Surviving are his beloved wife, of 46 years (54 ½ years together), Kay Summerford McSwain; furbaby, Cotton; nieces and nephews, Ty (Katherine) Schimek, Morgan (Palmer) Mixon, Allison King (Michael) Scarnato, Chris King, Trent King, Brittany Goode, Clete Goode, Laura Goode, Paige (Jesse) Ausec, and Caroline (Chip) McFarlin; special great-nephews, Theo Mixon and Winston Mixon; brothers, Tim (Lisa) King and Jeff King; and sister, Joni Goode.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Pisgah Methodist Church, in the family life center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in the church’s sanctuary.

Burial will follow at Pisgah Methodist Cemetery.
